I hope you all had a very relaxing Easter break! Mine was a quiet one spent at home with husband and pooch but enjoyable all the same. I must mention how insanely beautiful the days have been here in Brisbane with the warm weather and clear blue skies hanging around. Nights have been a little cooler which has prompted me to pull out some knits and jackets in preparation for the chillier months ahead. It got me thinking about tran-seasonal dressing and what wardrobe items I would be lost without. I want to share with you my five key items that are my” go-to” essential pieces. What I like the best is that they can be worn together or mixed with other pieces I have in my closet, they are building blocks for any classic wardrobe.
The Classic White Shirt – The classic white shirt is certainly up there as a wardrobe essential. Pair it with dress pants, jeans or a skirt for a polished and sophisticated look. Fabric and cut are key, always opt for crisp fabric like cotton and be sure the shirt is long enough to be tucked in or worn with a cinch belt. My pick here and support Ovarian Cancer.
Striped Tee – A total no brainer! A striped shirt adds a chic twist to any look and is a mainstay for any wardrobe. An easy way to glam up a striped shirt is to add a statement necklace. Keep an eye out for my next outfit post! My pick here.
Denim – I love jeans. I live in them most of the time making them my favourite wardrobe staple. It is important to find the right pair for your body shape. Levi’s do a great quick guide here for finding yours. My pick here.
The Coat- Whether it be a black blazer or classic trench, a good, well fitted coat is a smart investment for any wardrobe. I have worn my black blazer with low-key separates like a basic white t-shirt or black sequin top and jeans. Rolling the sleeves up makes an edgier look. It also works in the office paired with a shift dress. My pick here.
Black Heels – Every woman needs a pair of these. They are a definite go to for any occasion for a sleek stylish look. I prefer a pointed toe shape. My pick here.
