Cue Jacket & Skirt | Sportsgirl Grey Tee | Nine West Pumps | JCrew Tote
This is a no brainer really, every corporate wardrobe should contain at least one two piece suit.
When it comes to the jacket – be prepared to invest in a really good fitting one – unfortunately you cannot hide from a jacket that is poorly tailored. You may have to outlay a bit of cash up front but if it is of good quality you won’t need another for at least 2+ years. I usually wait until the end of year sales and pick one up from Cue to at half price.
When it comes to the bottoms, whether you prefer a skirt or pant it doesn’t matter. I have both and rotate, but it is whatever you feel comfortable in. I usually prefer to wear skirts for important meetings or job interviews so find that it is handy to have one always available in the wardrobe.
When it comes to colour, I only go for black or grey. Reason being, these colours can be coordinated with many different tops/shoes and give you the feeling that you are wearing a new outfit. I have gone for a bit of a casual look today by teaming the suit with a grey tee, but you could easily change the look with a collared shirt or even a silk cami. Try different coloured shoes or earrings if you must inject some colour.
